Pinochet dies 0
So finally Augusto Pinochet dies, several years after Margaret Thatcher had tea with the former Chilean dictator in London, and argued he was too frail to be tried in court for mass murder. He died on Human Rights Day, which can only serve as a sad reminder that he was never convicted for the deaths of thousands. To most (including the current president Michele Bachelet, who’s father was tortured and killed by Pinochet’s men), this can be the only reason flags in Chile will be flown at half-mast.
