Shower curtain 17
Feb10
We’ve been trying to think of a democratic way to chose a new shower curtain for the apartment. The dinosaur curtain was disqualified for not being translucent. So was the tropical curtain. Now, we have a short list of two, and in a secret poll my roommates each chose different curtains – which lands the decision back on ME. This is a big decision, people.

Well, with the frail state of the world today curtain 2 is in great danger of becoming obsolete. Nobody wants an uncertain curtain. So I‘ll have to cast my vote on the suave delicacy of curtain 1.
Sorry Peter but it has to be The World – something to look at while showering, and in five years time a relic of the current geopolitical era that can be sold to MOMA…
Even though I won’t be taking a shower in your bath any time soon (at least I don’t have any plans to) I will cast my vote and say that I agree with Bill.. Everyone needs a little entertainment in the shower, whether it’s some music or company (lol), and world map shower curtain can be a great way to learn and get clean at the same time!
Here’s something to think about though – which way would you hang the shower curtain? So that it reads correctly while you are standing IN the shower? Or so that it reads correctly to visitors who walk into the bathroom? Hmmm…
the world. But stay away from the atlantic or your ass will be exposed. One robust person covered by europe and africa, and a skinny tall person on america.
Well, tough obe – I’ll vote for curtain nr. 2 …if the map is up-to-date and if it can be read from the inside of the shower (planning the next trip) without problems. Nr. 1 looks like the wall paper in an English country pub.
Dude, the first one! Who needs to look at a map while you’re showering? The enchanted forest all the way. Sucks about the dinosaur one, though. We all know where your heart really lies.
This is why voting and ‘democracy’ is stupid. ‘Dinosaurs’ is obviously the best, but I cant even vote for it. You should just do whats right and declare it the curtain.
In case you don’t, ill vote for the ‘world’ since its cheaper.
I mean, its just a shower curtain.
The world is not enough….
One world is not enough for all of us. Bunnies, and does a go go.
first one. the second is when you’re 21 and just moved to new york.
The first one definitely is the best for those who don’t intend to discuss politics, etc. 24/7 and have other “relationship” intentions. Something about a wet-haired, sultry glare from curtains like that that the world — or the rest of it — doesn’t offer.
Of course, there are those moments in budding relationships when people like to out things in the world, but that…
Anyway, the world would be OK for a dining room place mat, but not the shower.
What’s wrong with your current shower curtain? I like that one. I think the map curtain is a bit too over-used.
What?! There is a current shower curtain?
yeah, the one she has now just has a series of pockets where you can put photos and postcards. It’s definitely better than the over-used (and soon to be obsolete) world map.
CURTAIN ONE! CURTAIN ONE! CURTAIN ONE!
Curtain one looks like something out of boogie nights. Keep your current curtain (sounds like fun). The world is really not enough.
So much for global consensus.
Here’s the tally:
Curtain 1 = 7
Curtain 2 = 5
Current curtain = 2
The world curtain was clearly the most controversial, illiciting comments and remarks from 13 respondents. I guess in theory, curtain one wins. But I might just stick plastic dinosaurs in the pockets of the current curtain instead.
The environmental argument got me. I mean how would I be able to look at the “enchanted forest” without feeling like I had contributed to the disrepair of the planet?
I’ll stick the old one in the washing machine and see what happens. If it still look yuckish, curtain one will prevail. Although… I feel drawn to the controversial nature of “the world”. Maybe I’ll just have to fly in the face of democracy (again).
Thank you for your esteemed opinions.
