Here’s one more election related post, since the Danish prime minister is expected to call elections any day now. In 2006, I got together with two other net-savvy gals, Mary Joyce and Zephyr Teachout to write a short guide to blogging elections. It’s probably due for an update by now, but Mary recently sent me an email with a new link to the guide so I thought I would share. Anybody who’s thinking about blogging effectively about elections may find inspiration here.

OK, maybe they won’t take over entirely.
But for the next two weeks, around 4000 government and NGO representatives will convene at the United Nations in New York to discuss how to improve the lives of women and girls around the world. It’s called the CSW.
I’m going to be blogging the whole thing for openDemocracy on this blog:

If you care about the world (and women) you should tune in.

Great post on Global Voices on Valentine’s Day in Saudi Arabia. It’s illegal to buy red roses on the 14th of February.

Politics in exile are never fun, lately they’ve been even less fun for Iranian blogger, Hoder. Never afraid to say controversial things, he’s come under personal attack from critics who say he lies about more or less everything, including being detained on a visit to Tehran in 2005. I can vouch for him in this case. At the time, we were co-editing IranScan.net

Jay Rosen leads by example, and responds to my post (6.) charging that his new collaborative online journalism project NewAssignment.com is still naked. Thanks Jay, looks more exciting by the day. Take a look at PressThink to watch this project develop and unfold. Hope they (we!) are able to start cracking while momentum is still high.
